Pedro was dumped out of a car when he was about 3 1/2 weeks old. My clicker trained cat had passed away about 3 months ago and I had been looking for a new candidate, but hadn’t really found anyone. When I saw this little guy at the vet’s, I knew he was the one for me! I took him home at 4 1/2 weeks and tried to start training him but he just wasn’t getting the idea. Did I make a huge mistake? Nope, he just wasn’t ready. At about 6 weeks old he just blossomed. He now learns a new behavior in an average of under 5 minutes. He loved to attack everyone’s hands and ankles so I decided that would be a perfect thing to do a video on. Many people ask me what to do about this problem and most books only recommend aversive methods so I decided to give positive ones a try instead. It worked great as you will see on the video. Pedro is a blast to have around and everyone’s ankles are much happier.
